形容詞、副詞有三個等級：原級、比較級和高級
8．third degree 逼供；拷問
在美國，警察過去常常對無權(quán)無勢的普通人使用刑訊逼供。人們遂借（the）third degree喻指（警察的）疲勞詢問（或逼供），同時還把“逮捕”和“入獄”分別婉稱為the first degree（第一級）和the second degree（第二級）。third degree常和動詞get/give連用,作get the third degree和give someone a/the degree。
句子核心部分是三個名詞的平行，并且每一個核心名詞都被形容詞比較級修飾，在最后一個平行部分前要用and。首先排除C，因為C用了in addition而不是and。
